DOOM 3: BFG Edition was a 2012 re-release of DOOM 3 with enhanced graphics, the expansion pack, an additional episode and even the original two games as extras. It incorporated portions of id Tech 5 and is to date the latest game engine id Software has released the source code to and may be the most graphically advanced game we have on the site so far.

The RBDOOM-3-BFG project is not only the most advanced source port of the BFG Edition but also a technical marvel by itself, bringing many graphic improvements and modern rendering features of its own.

NOTE: Most retailers such as Steam and GOG are now selling DOOM 3 and DOOM 3: BFG Edition as a package together under the name DOOM 3 so buying that will get you both games.
