You know what Lemmings is: that game where you have to get a bunch of cute little creatures from point A to point B and let just enough of them explode to be fun but not lose the level. The first game in the series was sort of a fluke that made enough money that the developer was obliged to make sequels and spinoffs. Then eventually they changed their name to Rockstar North and made all of the Grand Theft Auto games. Not kidding.
Anyway I've been wanting a Lemmings game on here for forever now but the issue is always that the fan projects are either doing something I'm not experienced with building, or they're a similar-but-not-Lemmings game like Pingus. And then here comes Erik Veland with a port of... well, all of them. The original game. The semi-sequel games. The three different holiday games. Preview support for the two full sequels. And six thousand fan levels.
Lemmings may be one of the most popular games you can't buy but here's enough of it to last you through the heat death of the universe.

The 90's were a wild time for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was that we were obsessed with tacking the number "2000" onto everything. So instead of SimCity 2 we get SimCity 2000. And whereas the original game was something of a loveable mess, SimCity 2000 polished and went much further with the concept and shifted to an isometric view.
The OpenSC2K project, interestingly, is not an attempt to reverse engineer the code so much as it's a playable recreation in Godot. It went dormant for several years and was recently revived.
So get ready to feel like you just came home with the floppies from Babbage's and prepare yourself for a fun city building experience only slightly marred by a frustrating water pipe interface.

Insaniquarium is a game where you feed fish. And fight aliens. And feed fish to other fish. And avoid electrocution. By now you either think this game is pointless or endlessly addictive. And if you think that sounds addictive you're not alone, since this game was downloaded 20 million times in five years.
Insaniquarium was later re-released in an enhanced version dubbed Insaniquarium Deluxe, which is the version you can still get off of Steam to this day, and the version that Insaniquarium Portable uses.

Total Annihilation is an RTS game with a cult following. Whereas other games in the genre focused on resource scarcity or micromanagement of units, it focused on resource streaming and large scale battles across bigger maps.
The game's designer, Chris Taylor, would go on to make spiritual sequels in the form of Supreme Commander amd Planetary Annihilation.

Developer: Bungie West
Release Date: 29 January 2001
The last game Bungie made before being absorbed by Microsoft and consumed with Halo, Oni is that game I barely remember but folks on my Discord desperately love. It's also never been released on digital distribution services, has been out of print for ages, and was the only product of the Bungie West offshoot.
Still, it is the subject of multiple reverse engineering attempts, the latest of which recreates the game for Apple Silicon.
In the anime-style game you play as a female protagonist aligned with the police force but learns that elements of her past are being hid from her, causing a quest of self-discovery.

Are you tired of waiting five years for a new game, only to have it cost even more than last time and then the developers get laid off by a heartless corporation? Well then do I have a deal for you.
BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER BEFORE 4 is the sequel to BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER 3, and judging from the title your business from the first game isn't finished, and now you have to save someone from a soccer star. Or a clown. I'm not sure.
I've mentioned it before but back in the day, you had game developers which could take a handful of people, make a game on a small budget, turn a profit, and then crank out am upgraded sequel in a year. Well, Joeveno and NoQuarter are doing that again. Literally - the release dates of 3 and 4 are almost one year apart to the day. And BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER BEFORE 4 features updates like double jumping, dash moves, and a new UI.
I love AAA gaming like everyone else but I miss the good old days when gaming was more fast and furious, so I'm a big fan of these guys now, and not just because I got to hang out with them at QuakeCon 2026. As a bonus, this is not only the newest game on Mac Source Ports (as of this writing) but it's the first time we've been able to add a Mac build of a game on release date.

Developer: Human Head Studios
Release Date: July 11, 2006
So, first things first: this is the 2006 game called Prey, not the more recent 2017 game called Prey.
In keeping with the trend of melding the game source with a related engine source in order to play a commercially unavailable game, here's Prey, 2006 edition.
The brief history is that in the late 90's 3D Realms tossed their hat into the "cool tech with one word name" game with a game and engine called Prey. It had deformable terrain, portals, and a Native American protagonist. Ultimately though it is never finished or released. Years later, while develping Duke Nukem Forever they dust off the old concept and hand it to Human Head Studios. They use id Tech 4 (so, the DOOM 3 engine) to make the game, keeping the protagonist and the portals (and even shipping before Portal) but swapping out the deformable terrain for gravity defying sections.
Years later 3DR sold the IP to ZeniMax, who was having Human Head make a Prey 2, reportedly tangentially connected to the first game, but it eventually gets canceled. In 2017 they decided to attach the Prey name to Arkane Studios' otherwise unrelated System Shock homage project.
The game has been unlisted and unavailable for years now in a situation similar to NOLF 2 where the rights are ambiguous due to corporate shenanigans but if you have it, now you can play it on your Mac. Again.
Pro tip: if you have a physical copy you can still activate the CD Key on Steam and activate this otherwise unavailable title.

Long before the franchise became known for the MMO, the Warcraft series started out as a series of real-time strategy games. The original game was a hit, following the conventions of the then relatively new genre, but Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness upped the ante in that golden age where a sequel could follow a year later and be radically improved.
In Warcraft II you choose a side, Orcs or Humans, and collect resources to build an army to destroy the other side. The game introduced several mechanics and interface decisions that would become standard conventions.
Note that the source ports featured here need the original versions of the game, not the later Remastered versions.

I may have overused the term Cult Classic on this site, but this game goes one step further: it's one of gaming's Holy Grails.
No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way is the second entry in the NOLF series. You play as Cate Archer, a spy for U.N.I.T.Y., a British counter-terrorism group fighting the H.A.R.M. organization. Basically it's a parody/homage to the James Bond movies of the 1960's with a stylish, groovy protagonist. The game was critically well recieved and is beloved within gaming fandom.
So why is it a White Whale? Because it has been commercially unavilable for many years now. It's a bizarre situaiton where the companies involved with making the games have been bought and sold and absorbed enough times that no one knows who owns the rights. The parties involve are willing to spend the effort to quash efforts from GOG and Night Dive to reissue the game but not enough to actually hash out the rights.
So consequently it was absolutely not on my Bingo card for this year that someone would figure out how to run the game on Apple Silicon. So if you fall in the Venn Diagram of people who want to play this game and are willing to figure out how to get the data on your Mac, prepare yourself for one of the best games money can't buy, though not for lack of trying.
